33% of annuitants not getting the best deals

According to a recent survey by the Association of British Insurers, 19% of annuitants who did not use an independent financial adviser wish that they had done so. With the open market option potentially able to offer significant lifetime gains when compared to the rates offered by existing pension providers, independent financial advisors can be an essential way of sourcing the best pension for you.
Although a greater number of people are shopping for an annuity, only two-thirds of annuitants are exploring the open market option. The survey also revealed that many people found annuities to be complicated and difficult to understand, emphasising the help and guidance that an independent financial advisor can provide.
